She attends Dongduk Women's University.
Gyuri was a kid actor. Her first ever television appearance was on a show called "Today is a Nice Day" way back in the nintes. where she played the part of girlfriend to one of the lead characters. Her next gig was in early 2001 where she played the teen version of Kim Jung's character in "Ladies of the Place". This was followed by the formation of Kara, where she became band leader and eventually lead vocalist with the departure of fellow Kara Pretty Girl Kim Sung Hee.
